"Ethics are not univocal. Nature is unethical. The stable, however, can – and should – be. These are the three assumptions underlying the “La Stalla Etica®” initiative (in English, the “ethical” stable), conceived by Dr. Alessandro Fantini, director and founder of Ruminantia®, the Italian free web magazine that aims at creating a community among operators in the ruminant milk and meat sector in Italy, conveying, for eleven years now, information and insights, both technical and scientific and political-economic."

Interesting article! It is good to learn about new ethical and sustainable practices in the livestock sector, and how caring about both animal wellbeing and the environment can go hand in hand. As a point for reflection - I believe the holistic change that is required to tackle our climate/GHG emission problems should not only place the responsibility on farmers to adopt more sustainable practices, but share this responsibility with consumers (through more ethical consumption patterns) and policy-makers (through subsidizing this kind of initiatives). Regarding the latter point, ALFA is an example of it, as this EU-funded project will support projects that want to invest in manure treatment for biogas production (so please check the open calls to apply for such support).
