The global transition towards renewable energy sources necessitates innovative approaches to waste management and energy production. Anaerobic digestion (AD) offers a sustainable solution by converting organic waste into biogas, a renewable energy source. However, anaerobic digestate, a by-product of AD, poses challenges due to its high ammonia content. Co-digestion of organic waste streams presents an opportunity to enhance biogas production and improve the economic viability of AD systems. This proposal aims to investigate the efficacy of organic waste co-digestion for hydrogen production from anaerobic digestate, addressing the need for sustainable waste management and renewable energy generation.
