Upcoming Workshop and Field Visit: Enhancing Biogas Plant Efficiency and Exploring Alternative Revenue Streams
The ALFA Mutual Learning Workshop & Field Visit, themed “Increasing the Efficiency of Biogas Plants and Exploring Alternative Revenue Sources,” is set to take place on 26th November 2024 in Poprad, Slovakia. This event, hosted at Hotel Mamut and the Poprad-Matejovce Biogas Plant, will bring together experts and practitioners in biogas production to share insights, best practices, and innovative solutions aimed at optimizing the efficiency and profitability of biogas facilities.

The workshop is divided into two sessions:

- The Biogas Landscape in Slovakia
- European Biogas Market Outlook
- Exploring Alternative Revenue Streams: Presentations will focus on revenue-boosting strategies such as energy aggregation, grid connections, and innovative uses for by-products from biogas plants. Experts will share knowledge on:
- Energy Sharing Models and Community Integration
- Monetization of Biomethane Certificates and CO₂ capture
- Digestate Utilization and Waste Management Options

Field Visit and Practical Demonstration
Following the workshop, participants will take advantage on a field visit to EnergoTerra’s Poprad-Matejovce Biogas Plant. The tour will offer attendees a firsthand look at advanced biogas production methods and technologies implemented at the plant.
The event promises to be a valuable platform for learning, networking, and collaboration among stakeholders in the biogas sector.
